Asmodee ceases the digital sale of pandemic

PANDEMIC, the SMOLDER digital table game, has been withdrawn without prior notice of the sale, by a multitude of reasons that the publisher can not explain.

As usual, players who have already bought the game can re-download it, but can not be purchased again since January 6. In addition, any reference to it from the official website of the developer has been eliminated.

The warning on your Steam page simply points out that by requesting the publisher, pandemic: the board game can no longer be purchased at Steam. In Xbox and Nintendo Switch, you can buy until the end of January, when it will also be eliminated from the sale.

A Reddit user claims to have contacted model and received a response about it, according to PC Gamer:

First, we want to thank you and all pandemic players for your loyalty and support during the time. Unfortunately, we are eliminating pandemic from stores. We have worked hard during these four years in the game and eliminate it from the sale. It was an easy decision. The decision has been taken with regret by a multitude of reasons that we can not explain.

The game originally came out in 2007 and its digital version was launched in 2018. It is one of the most successful cooperative board games of all time, due to its mix of simple concepts and rules and the unpredictable nature of the items. However, Model may consider that a game on controlling deadly diseases was not the most appropriate title for the times.
