Arcane is the best video game filming of all time and you do not have to know lol

The new series of LEAGUE OF LEGENDS (LOL) has appeared on Netflix. Manaus editor-in-chief Day Minkowski was able to see the first 4 episodes of Arcane before the release. She urgently advises you to see the series, even if you have nothing to do with LOL.

The history of video game films is painful for fans of the medium. Implements to Spielerehen like Resident Evil, Mortal Combat or Sonic left us burned and empty back. Depending on which productions you all want to get in with, there are now well over 100, and they are all bad or at most mid-speaking.

These numerous implementations tell neither good stories, nor are they fair to the figures and worlds we have lost. We close our games into the heart, and it hurts when cheap adaptations they step with feet.

This is at League of Legends: Arcane completely different. The series sets a new standard for game films.

No matter if your League of Legends knows or not. The series meets me as a former junkie of the game in the fan heart. Arcane also tells a rousing story, with complex characters in a split world in which you can lose you.

A story about industrialization, which is told like Game of Thrones

Arcane imagines the history of industrialization and a two-class system. In Plover, the economy blooms through progress and a newly discovered technology. It is even a scientific chair in Plover, who exercises the greatest power.

But there is a lower city district called Shaun. Here lives the like forgotten scum. Here is the working people who supply Plover with valuable goods. Criminal bands do their way here. What flowers here is the black market.

Plovers and Hash are dependent on each other, but the complete reflection with an unfair distribution of wealth.

You dive into a steampunk world in which your gears literally sound rattling and feels the steam on your skin. Whether we are in Plover, in which airships on the sky lift. Or if we are in Shaun, where the industrial tutor is dripping from the walls.

Arcane offers a fertile ground for conflicts that tell stories of love, hatred, misguided, longing and intrigue. In the center are the once loving sisters Jinx and VI, which are driven apart by a heavy fate. At least one initially believes that the two stand in the absolute center.

From the second episode, however, the crash strands and other characters from the universe of League of Legends will get room. However, as in Game of Thrones, however, their stories are linked together, and they already realize in the first consequences that everything will go out to a large, common high point.

Just like in Game of Thrones, the figures are not just good or evil. They are human with different facets. There are good reasons for the characters why they act as they act, what makes them comfortable.

If you address the topic, you will like Arcane. For this you do not even have heard from the game League of Legends. What the series is still pretty strong: All characters are treated equally, whether they come from the game or not. They have unique external characteristics, a story and a real character.

About the author: Day has lit during her studies League of Legends. In a period of 5 years she played almost every day and gathered well over 1,000 hours in the Mob. Of course, she was immediately curious about Arcane. But that s not all. Day, as a child, mostly dealt with stories and constantly premed for himself. The production value is scary

Each episode of Arcane takes about 40 minutes, which allows the storytelling a draft, as many animation series do not have. The standard for animated series is 10 to 20 minutes, with some exceptions.

When I saw the high-quality trailers for the series, I had the fear that only the trailers would look so unprecedented well. Because Riot, the developer studio behind League of Legends, has a long history of high-quality produced music videos and short films. Many fans out there, therefore, have been screaming for a movie or a series for years.

For these productions, Riot Games often worked together with the French Animation Studio Article. This is exactly the studio, which produced about the viral music video pop / stars from the fictitious K-pop band KD / A. The band consists of characters from League of Legends.

The music video has meanwhile reached almost 450 million (!) Views on YouTube.

However, a complete series is not included in the portfolio so far. Neither at Riot Games, nor in festivals. After the first 4 episodes Arcane, however, it looks like she mastered it. My fears were free.

Fans of League of Legends are often united

Who knows the Game League of Legends, knows that the story and the world building behind it do not make sense at all. This is located in the nature of the games and game genres.

What is Lol ever? For 12 years, League of Legends is playable for free and belongs to the Genre Multiplayer-Online Battle Arena, Mob short. The principle is simple. I am one of the players who like to find out the stories behind the characters. Here and there are overlaps, and somehow you live in the same world — but that s not compared with a game in which the story is in focus.

And that s exactly what Arcane will finally give you! There is a contiguous story that actually makes sense and succeed the universe really live. In Arcane, the Lore of some characters is changed, which is good. To avoid spoiler, I do not go in detail.

But I assure you that the characters remain true to their core. You will be exactly the people we get to know you from the game and love (or hate) learned. The changes are important for the story to work.

The story works for itself alone, but still I had to rejoice again and again when my fan heart is triggered. Whenever a new character from League of Legends was recognizable. When a poor sits in the corner. When Jinx attracts her toy monkeys. There are so many moments.

Straight fans of the game I put the series especially to the heart.

Looks Arcane

After the first 4 episodes of Arcane I would like to dip deeper. Every action strand and every turn I have pursued with tension. For some fighting scenes even goose bumps wide. I want to know how the figures can develop in character and wherever their path leads them.

I am sure that the series will stay at a high level until the end. In the next 3 weeks, 3 new episodes will always appear together. The first 3 episodes are now available to Netflix. Overall, we will land with 9 episodes — and I can not imagine that here the end is reached when the series becomes a success.

The Universe of League of Legends is gigantic and Arcane has previously covered two regions. There is still plenty of room for growth in which we are dedicated to other characters and regions.

You will not find any higher quality animation series or better video game film at this time.
